Facebook Messenger: how it works

  1. Sign in with Facebook

    Approve the permissions and choose the Page you want to connect.

  2. Messenger chats arrive in your inbox

    The assistant answers them like any other direct message.

  3. Page posts and comments appear

    Keyword rules reply to comments with your text; the rest wait for your team.

  • Shows your Page’s posts and comments in the panel.
  • Attaches the ad to a conversation that started from a click-to-message ad.

What it does not do

  • It connects Facebook Pages, not personal profiles.
  • No AI replies to comments and no automatic message from a comment.
Setup

Facebook Messenger: getting started

  1. Step 1

    In Settings, open Connected Accounts and press Connect Facebook.

  2. Step 2

    Sign in, approve the permissions and select your Page.

  3. Step 3

    Publish your assistant. Messenger chats now appear in Messages.

Do I need a Facebook Page?

Yes. Messenger conversations belong to a Page: you sign in with Facebook and select the Page to connect. Personal profiles cannot be connected.

Are Page comments answered by AI?

No. Comments are answered by keyword rules with the text you wrote, or by your team. The AI assistant answers Messenger conversations.
